1. Acceptance of terms
This website, shinasalako.com (the "Site"), is operated by SALCOMMS KWIK XTRA LIMITED, a private limited company registered in Nigeria. By accessing or using the Site, downloading any asset, submitting any form, purchasing the book, or booking a training programme, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
These terms apply to all visitors and users. Additional terms may apply to specific transactions (for example, the booking terms shown on the training-booking page) and form part of the agreement where relevant.
2. Use of the website
You may use the Site for personal and professional reading, research, and the legitimate purpose of evaluating or transacting with SALCOMMS. You may not use the Site to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Send unsolicited communications, spam, or any form of malicious traffic.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its hosting infrastructure, or any related systems.
- Scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract content from the Site for commercial use without prior written permission.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the Site or any of its assets.
- Use the Site in any way that interferes with its availability for other users.
3. Accounts and registration
The Site does not require an account for general use. When you submit a form (for example, to receive the First Look, register for a training scoping call, or book a training cohort), you are providing information voluntarily and consenting to its use as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
4. Book purchases
The book "Telematics & Fleet Management: The Operating Playbook for Fleet Leaders in Emerging Markets" is available in paperback and digital editions at the prices shown on the book page. Purchases are subject to:
- The prices, currencies, and delivery terms displayed at checkout.
- Payment processing by Paystack (for naira transactions) or Stripe (for dollar transactions). Card details are handled by the payment processor and not stored by SALCOMMS.
- Delivery of digital editions immediately upon successful payment, via download link sent to the email address provided.
- Delivery of physical paperbacks within the timeframes stated on the book page (3–7 working days within Nigeria, 7–14 working days internationally), subject to courier availability.
- Local taxes, duties, and customs charges where applicable — these are the responsibility of the buyer.
Once a digital edition has been downloaded, it is not refundable except in case of demonstrable product defect. Physical book returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery if the book is unread and undamaged; the buyer is responsible for return shipping.
5. Training programme bookings
Open-enrolment training cohorts are bookable through the training page family. The terms of each booking are:
- A seat is reserved on receipt of the 50% deposit.
- The remaining 50% balance is invoiced separately and is due no later than 14 days before the start of week 1 of the cohort.
- If the balance is not received by the due date, SALCOMMS may release the seat and the deposit is forfeited under the cancellation policy in section 6.
- Participation in the live sessions, completion of the workbook exercises, and submission of the 90-day plan are required to receive the SALCOMMS Fleet Operating System Practitioner certificate.
- Recordings of live sessions are made available to registered participants only and may not be redistributed.
In-house programme engagements are governed by a separate written agreement issued at the proposal stage. These Terms apply to the in-house enquiry process; the proposal itself supersedes them for the specific engagement.
6. Refunds and cancellation
Training cohort cancellations
- 21 or more days before week 1: the deposit is refundable in full, minus any irrecoverable third-party fees (e.g. payment-processor charges).
- 20 to 15 days before week 1: the deposit is non-refundable but the seat is transferable to a future cohort within 12 months, or to a named colleague from the same organisation.
- 14 or fewer days before week 1: the seat and any payments made are non-refundable. The seat may be transferred to a named colleague from the same organisation up to 48 hours before the first session, at SALCOMMS's discretion.
- If SALCOMMS cancels a cohort: all payments are refunded in full, or transferred to a future cohort at the participant's choice.
Book purchases
See section 4. Digital editions are non-refundable once downloaded except in case of product defect. Physical books are returnable within 14 days of delivery, unread and undamaged, with return shipping borne by the buyer.
7. Use of the maturity assessment
The Fleet Operating System Maturity Assessment is provided free of charge as a diagnostic tool. The results are an indication of where your operation sits against the FOS framework based on the answers you provided; they are not a guarantee of outcomes and should not be used as the sole basis for any operating, commercial, or investment decision. SALCOMMS accepts no liability for actions taken on the basis of an assessment result. For a written assessment, book the facilitated session as described on the assessment page.
8. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — text, graphics, photography, illustrations, the seven-layer Fleet Operating System framework, the maturity-model framework, the assessment questions and scoring, the chapter decks, the training workbooks, the names and trade marks of SALCOMMS — is the property of SALCOMMS KWIK XTRA LIMITED or its licensors, and is protected by Nigerian copyright law and applicable international treaties.
You may:
- Read, share, and link to publicly available pages on the Site.
- Quote short extracts of published content with proper attribution ("Shina Salako, Telematics & Fleet Management, 2026").
- Use templates and workbooks issued to you as part of a training programme inside your own organisation.
You may not:
- Reproduce, redistribute, sell, or sublicence any of the assets without prior written permission.
- Use any SALCOMMS asset for commercial training, consulting, or publication without a separate licensing agreement.
- Modify, rebrand, or strip attribution from any asset.
9. User-submitted content
When you submit information through a form (an enquiry, a scoping-call request, an in-house proposal request, free-text context provided alongside the maturity assessment), you grant SALCOMMS a limited, non-exclusive licence to use that information for the purpose stated on the form and described in the Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of your information. You are responsible for ensuring that what you submit does not infringe any third-party right or breach any confidentiality obligation you owe to your employer or any other party.
10. Disclaimers
The Site, the book, the training programmes, the maturity assessment, and all related materials are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. SALCOMMS makes no warranty, express or implied, that:
- The Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
- Any information on the Site is complete, current, or applicable to your specific operating circumstances.
- Following the operating discipline described in the book or the training programmes will produce any specific commercial outcome for your organisation.
The book and the programmes describe an operating discipline drawn from fifteen-plus years of practitioner experience. Whether that discipline produces results in your operation depends on factors specific to your operation that SALCOMMS does not control.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, SALCOMMS KWIK XTRA LIMITED, its directors, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business opportunity, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site, the book, the training programmes, the maturity assessment, or any related materials.
SALCOMMS's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Site or any transaction conducted through it shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to SALCOMMS in the 12 months preceding the claim, or NGN 100,000 (one hundred thousand naira), whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SALCOMMS KWIK XTRA LIMITED, its directors, employees, and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, or damages arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your infringement of any third-party right.
13. Termination
SALCOMMS may suspend or terminate your access to the Site (or to any specific asset, programme, or community) at any time, with or without notice, for any breach of these Terms or for any conduct that SALCOMMS reasonably believes is harmful to other users, to SALCOMMS, or to third parties. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any fees already paid, except where a refund is required under section 6 or by applicable law.
14. Third-party services
The Site links to or integrates with third-party services (payment processors, calendar tools, video conferencing, the email platform, analytics providers). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. SALCOMMS is not responsible for the conduct, policies, or content of third parties.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Site, are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, except that SALCOMMS may bring proceedings to enforce its intellectual property rights in any jurisdiction where infringement occurs.
Before commencing court proceedings, the parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute by direct discussion for a period of 30 days from the date written notice of the dispute is given.
16. Changes to these terms
SALCOMMS may revise these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes (changes to refund policy, liability, governing law, intellectual property rights), we will provide at least 30 days' notice via prominent banner on the Site and email to subscribers to the newsletter.
Questions about these Terms should be directed to enquiries@salcomms.com.
