Refund & Cancellation Policy
This policy explains the refund and cancellation terms for each product and service we offer. It is written in plain English. If anything is unclear, email hello@shinasalako.com before booking and we will clarify.
1. The Founder Diagnostic
The diagnostic is free. There is nothing to refund. If you wish to be removed from our list, unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of any email or email us directly.
2. The book and companion workbook
Physical book purchases follow the refund policy of the retailer through which you purchased (Amazon, Selar, Roving Heights, etc.). Direct purchases from us are refundable in full within 14 days of purchase if the book has not been damaged. After 14 days, no refunds are available.
Digital purchases (e-books, audiobooks, the companion workbook PDF) are refundable in full within 7 days of purchase if you can confirm you have deleted all copies. After 7 days, no refunds are available.
3. The half-day workshop
Refund window: up to 14 days before the workshop
Full refund. Processed within 7 working days of your request. Email hello@shinasalako.com with "WORKSHOP REFUND" in the subject line.
Within 14 days of the workshop
No cash refund. However, you have two alternatives:
- Transfer your seat to another founder of your choosing, subject to our reasonable approval. They take your full seat — including the pre-work, the recordings, the workbook, and the follow-up call. No additional fee.
- Roll your seat forward to the next cohort (typically 3-5 weeks later). Same seat, same materials.
No-shows
If you do not attend the workshop and have not transferred or rolled your seat forward at least 24 hours in advance, no refund is available and your seat is forfeited.
Force majeure / our cancellation
If we are unable to run the workshop for reasons beyond our reasonable control (government restrictions, venue cancellation, severe weather, illness), we will reschedule and your seat carries forward at no additional cost. If we cancel the workshop entirely without an alternative date offered, you are entitled to a full refund.
For the partial payment plan (₦100,000 to hold + ₦85,000 due 10 days before): if you cancel within the refund window, both payments are refunded. If you cancel within the no-refund window, the held seat is forfeited and the second payment is not collected (or refunded if already paid).
4. 1:1 Coaching programmes
Refund terms for coaching engagements are governed by the signed coaching agreement provided at engagement start. The general principles are:
The 90-Day Intensive
Full refund available within 7 days of signing, less any sessions already completed (at the per-session rate). After 7 days and the first three sessions, no refund is available. You may request a pause of up to 30 days for personal emergency reasons.
Monthly Retainer
Cancellable on 30 days' written notice. Sessions paid for but not yet delivered are credited to the notice period; no other refunds are issued. Six-month minimum commitment.
The Inner Circle
Annual commitment. Refundable in full within 14 days of joining the cohort if no sessions have taken place. After the first quarterly retreat, no refund is available. Detailed terms are in the Inner Circle agreement.
5. Corporate engagements
Corporate workshops, two-day intensives, and quarterly programmes are governed by the signed Statement of Work (SOW) for the engagement. Refund and cancellation terms vary by engagement and are negotiated as part of the SOW. The general principle: cancellation more than 30 days before the engagement is refundable in full; within 30 days, deposits become non-refundable.
6. How to request a refund
Email hello@shinasalako.com with the relevant subject line:
- WORKSHOP REFUND — for half-day workshop refunds
- COACHING REFUND — for 1:1 programme refunds
- BOOK REFUND — for direct book purchase refunds
- CORPORATE REFUND — for corporate engagement refunds
Include in your email: your name, the email address used to make the booking, the date of payment, the amount paid, and a brief reason (optional but appreciated — it helps us improve).
Approved refunds are processed within 7 working days. Bank reversals can take an additional 5-10 days to land in your account depending on your bank.
7. Exchange rates and currency
If you paid in a currency other than Naira (for example, USD or GBP), refunds are issued in the same currency at the original transaction amount. We do not bear exchange rate risk on refunds — if the rate has moved between payment and refund, the refund is in the original currency and amount.
8. Disputes and chargebacks
We prefer to resolve all refund matters directly. If you are considering a chargeback through your bank or card provider, please contact us first — most chargebacks can be avoided by a 5-minute conversation. Chargebacks raised without prior contact may result in additional administrative fees.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes do not apply retroactively — the policy in effect on the date of your purchase governs that purchase.
